A review of C Tech's Pocket Rock-it and a demo of Roland's Micro Cube using both direct recording and mic'd.
The rig used is an early 80's Jackson-Charvel straight to the amp mic'd with an AKG Perception 120.

  • So I've decided to pick one of these up. I was wondering do these take normal headphones? Like could you use ipod headphones if you wanted?

  • @PkedYou It's a 1/4" jack so you'll need an adapter. Cheap and easy to find

  • Great Demo! Your superb playing really adds to the integrity of the sound from this thing! It does sound amazing though....Lots of tone!

I bought a little gizmo more like the Pocket Rocket thing and its made by VOX and is smaller than a pack of cigs. It plugs directly into your guitar as well and has mp3 input and headphone jack. There are 3 different types, I believe, one clean one rock and one metal. Not near as many options tone wise as the Roland, but worked really well...

    Thanks 4 sharing

  • @albooher1 Wish I had tried the Vox but I'm very happy with the micro cube.

    Thanks for watching.

  • how much dose this thng cost and how many watts is this thing?

  • @KILLTJ94x Under $100 2 watts

  • common man comparing a $30 little pocket amp against a $150 modeling amp. Not exactly apple to apples. I have a Vox DA5 and love it but i wouldnt compare to a pocket amp.

  • Very good demo of the Roland Micro Cube. What are you plugging your mic into to get that incredible sound? I'd like my Micro Cube to sound this good too.

  • awesome review mate , rele indepth , ive had my micro cube for a year now still love it for the money its hard to beat

  • @MrLeedsman ok kool thanks alot

  • @billyb440 Yeah it's a fun toy.

    Regards

  • That's weird... i was just thinking to myself, "Man, Leadsman should put out another video" five minutes later i see this.

Anyway, i always wondered what would happen if you tried to plug those pocket amps into a routed output jack, there's my answer. I played with the Microcube a few times, but i just need that tube tone personally. Its a great little solid state though.
