Spanning the late eighties to the present, "The Blue Bourbon Orchestra" is an epic novel narrated by an alcoholic guitarist named Charles Leslie deBeau. With great candor, humor and regret, he tells the story of the greatest force he ever encountered, so powerful that it completely changed the direction of his life and many others: the fading alt. country band The Blue Bourbon Orchestra, and its silver-tongued lead singer, Guy Fisher.

"The Blue Bourbon Orchestra" is a new novel from Carson Mell, writer of "Saguaro" and filmmaker of "Chonto," and "Field Notes From Dimension X."

  • such a nice video..keep up the great work!

  • excited to read this!

  • Can. Not. Wait. Been a big fan since I saw an old Wolphin dvd; Carson, thanks for what you do!

  • freaked out a little, but my faith is in carson.

  • Mell's a magician. I just read Freedom, and Richard Katz isn't worthy enough to hold Bobby Bird's guitar pick.

  • OMG I LOVE THESE

  • Can't wait to order a copy. Saguaro was brilliant.

  • @MrKarst9 I want to hear "Turkey Trot"

  • So looking forward to "The Blue Bourbon Orchestra." Reading Saguaro was a truly magical little time in my life.

  • Great video! The music, the opening animation (an eclipse?), the maniacal masked tongue dude, the spinning wagon wheel, the voice-over with the LP; it's all good stuff.

I noticed that the only two half rotations where there's only one shot are the dog silhouette and the baby's feet; significance unknown. All the other ones have two each.

Pause the record label and try to read the names of the songs; some of the ones I could make out are pretty funny.

Really looking forward to the book!
