@leonardovittori1 This is probably because Callas (and Ponselle as well) never left a filmed stage performance of Norma, one of the greatest regrets of operatic history :(
-
Sounds far too pushed for my liking; a lovely voice, but being mistreated.

Love her!

BRAVISSIMA MARIA!!!!! PIU BELLA! PIU BRAVA! PIU GRANDE! GULEGHINA IS THE BEST!!! everyone who says otherwise is deaf, has no understanding of opera and is a victim of systematic brainwash!
-
What on earth is this contest without the two greatest normas of all.. Ponselle and Callas? This is not smart..
-
Guleghina is a dramatic soprano of the Italian variety.

@GoldenAgeSunshine I completely agree.

surprising- really more controlled than expected. i couldn´t imagine the result before with this kind of voice in this repertory. i prefer other ones but i was curious about that.
Sorry guys, I give her 4,9/5! I love her, I simply love whatever comes out of the mouth of this woman. There is only The One who has the same on me in this aria. She is obviously struggling with the vocal material, but still there is so much passion and emotion. This is art!

For me she is bigger than a Lyric. Her voice is robust, huge and dark. Fleming, being a full soprano, sounds lke a chirping bird next to her.
