This is just a little follow up demo after owning the Pharaoh for quite a while now. I won't mess with the two tone knobs much because I find they sound best with max low end (the low end is addicting!), which is left tone completely turned off, and nearly max high end/clarity (right tone full on) since this can be a very warm/dark and thick fuzz. I like it with the gain full on all the time, as most fuzzes (especially in germanium) sound best this way, to me. However, even with gain full up, the upper toggle switch gives you two levels of gain. The lower toggle is (left) Silicon diodes and (right) Germanium. I won't mess with the center position, which is diodes out and gives you the least gain and compression and most volume. Check out blackartstoneworks.blogspot.com and email Mark if you want one of these bad boys. This is the biggest, most natural fuzz I've heard and a compressed video recorded on my iPhone just doesn't do it justice or even begin to capture the low end. Plus, my playing doesn't exactly flatter it :)
Better than the Scarab?

nice demo! and yeah i thought the same thing at first as well: the tone control all the way down and the presence control all the way up, because i found that there was a big volume drop as soon as you moved the tone control away from zero. but if you put both knobs at noon, and turn up the level a bit, it's more of a balanced (EQ-wise) fuzz without so much low end. still sounds brilliant either way, just thought i'd share that with you. :)
