I am soooo high
-
I met JSM in 79.
He was astounding.
In a lecture he asked a question, no takers, a silent room. JSM commented the silence was 'sepulchral'. Then he challenged us to spell sepulchral, again no takers - he looked saddened - head bowed - he muttered, a Christian People - a Crist I an , Pey O pul .. it was evident he was crying ..
This is a man who had such passion for knowledge that ignorance , petty as it might be, drove him to tears.
A great character ; look him up.

i love this guy! i hope i get a professor like him =D
-
man this guy would be the best high school science teacher ever :P
-
SURELY it's not very clever handling mercury like that?
-
The sweating it's not just because hot studio, the loud speking, emotion and demonstration are very hard work to. I teach in similar style like him and sweat a lot after class :) .
-
I think the needle sunk.
-
Incidentally, notice how much he's sweating...that must have been one hot studio.
But I've spent forty years playing with soap bubbles and have not yet tired of it!

thank you so much for posting these videos. I grew up as a teenager in the 80's watching professor Miller and am still amazed at his genius. A wonderful contribution to today's science of physics, from which the youth of today can continue to gain knowledge.
