Just had to see the final trains of the 2011 season on the Severn Valley Railway. First up at Hay Bridge is 43106 (apologies for the sound quality as had to borrow my son's audio clip as my extension cable decided to fail). Next and just north of Highley station we 43106 on its way back to Kidderminster. Then, unexpectedly a light engine movement in the form of 5164 followed by 80072 on a train to Bridgnorth. The final scene shows 80072 on the last train out of Bridgnorth in the 2011 season.

  • A wonderful collection of SVR clips John, and despite the audio glitch, a superb production.....Bob

  • @robmasterman Bob, The first clip was too good to miss out so my son's audio recording was my only option. It was good to capture the last trains of the season. Regards, John

  • Excellent collection John and such a fitting way to finish 2011. Lets hope 2012 can be just as good. Are you planning on coming up for any of the CME's travelling over the S&C this winter?

    Thanks for sharing regards Phil.

  • @981smithy Phil, Yes turned out better than expected. As for the CMEs I haven't decided which one to go for and will probably make a late decision based on the weather forecast. Not that it can be relied on in that area. Whatever the weather I shall definitely be somewhere around Shap for the Princess and Earl pairing which promises to be something really special. Regards, John

  • Hiya John, An enjoyable film. I especially liked the last clip of a BR 4MT blasting (literally) its way up the hill. I always liked the BR 4MT tanks and remember their work on the old LTS line from London to Essex. (Now called C2C) Barry

  • @Pmarsh1952 I parked my car on the road to Highley underneath the by-pass bridge then walked up the road towards Highley. After about 500 metres there is a field on the right with a stile at the entrance. Walk across the field and over the gate to access the railway. Then walk down the side of track towards Bridgnorth and the bank where I was is on the left. Regards, John

  • @molzips good job ive got one then did you walk straight over the bridge from bridgnorth station ??

  • @lmogden1 I appreciate your comments. Regards, John

  • @siobhan104 I could have done without the wind noise in the first shot but as my external microphone cable had failed it was a case of not showing what was a good spectacle with the glint on the train or putting up with recording made by my son. Thanks for your comment. Regards, John

  • @Pmarsh1952 Yes the green structure in the video is the bridge that carries the railway across the by-pass. Access to where I was is only possible with a line side pass and in the summer months the bank is usually heavily overgrown and not accessible. It was a first for me. THanks for your comment. Regards, John

  • Good one. Great sound from both loco's. All the best.

  • Nice !! is the last clip just around the corner from bridgnorth station

  • great video
