More than 70 mine workers are feared dead in Tanzania after the area they were mining flooded following heavy rains.
The rescue effort, which has largely been left to colleagues of the trapped men, has been hampered by a lack of equipment.
From Mererani in northeastern Tanzania, Yvonne Ndege reports for Al Jazeera.
though we cannot blame only the USA, many people blame the USA, but its the whole world that uses the minerals found in Tanzania and Congo. as well as all the minerals of africa. they are all used by every country, and we must blame ourselves and not just the USA.

The problem is the USA , or all occupying Countries, the need for such a rock is what cause the issue. I am sad at the inhuman rich who has money to help the people. Rich Africans. they do exist , May The LORD of all mankind help these and all suffering people and do away with their oppressors .

What are you talking about? No one in the video was asking for any kind of foreign aid or help. I agree with your sentiment in general, but it is still possible to help others help themselves.

I know this may sound quite harsh but we MUST let Africa help Africa. The very deprivations & hardships that spurn countries like the USA to implement safety and methods of help organically for workers & citizens will only come about though internal pressure NOT form hand-out from the UN or wealthy countries.
The more hand-outs are available, the less pressure from the population to do something permanent and productive on a continuum.

- and as for that last question that the reporter asked at 1:18?
Mines by their very nature are not safe. That's the nature of mining. Of course, there's 'relative' safety. But mining should always be realized for what it is. An extremely, dangerous, dangerous profession.

Ugh. I'm from West Virginia, so I have nothing but sympathy for all miners and their families in situations like this.
