From the inside Marcia Hines

It is of the utmost honour to be able to wax lyrical about Australia's Queen of Pop - Marcia Hines. It may have been decades ago that she was thrice crowned this lofty title, but she has remained in the public eye, with comebacks, winning a whole new generation of fans with her genial presence as judge on Australian Idol between 2003 and 2009.

I have had the lovely pleasure of meeting Marcia Hines, as well as corresponding with her, finding a warm, generous and spirited human being and human doing. Then there's that voice!

Discovering Marcia on her debut hit "Fire and Rain" in the middle of 1975, it did not take long for this fan or the rest of Australia to take her to heart, and the follow up single "From the Inside", released in the summer of 1975, remains as wondrous today as it was 36 years ago! The song was her first Top 10 hit, and she was to return there many times over the years. I heard Marcia perform it some two and a half decades after it was released, and she had me in tears, so powerful and heartfelt was the emotion as sung by this singer's singer.

Marcia dominated ther charts for the rest of the 70's, and still tours, records and delights people wherever she goes. I plan to post some lesser known songs of hers, down the track, but for now, it fills me with joy to post this clip, and share with the world the amazing talent of Marcia Hines. Enjoy!
