just watching the turtles roam, eat, interact. Tank is basically the same, have one new addition, a female mud turtle. Only the male, Romeo, is not in this video, he was hiding somewhere in the tank.

  • I was just wondering, I have an acrylic tank which I want to smarten up by drilling through the bottom and put my inlet and outlets through, I noticed u have done the same, I assume the drilling part will be fine as it's plastic but how easy is it to get a seal and obviously noooo leaks lol do you have any hints or tips? Cheers

  • @zxrninja636 I didn't do the drilling in my tank. The tank builder drilled the holes. I can't help you with the technical specifics. If you are going to do your own work, search the web for advice on how to do it. You might also consider using a piece of scrap plastic to practice your drilling before going at it with your tank.

  • I believe those are in fact some species of sand darter, I've read it's common to find them in with ghost shrimp

  • @xXxLinksterxXx no hassle at all, takes about 15 minutes. I have a hose dedicated for the water changes, just pull it in from outside and connect it to the pump. I fill the sump back up with fresh water directly from the hose. My house water is treated with activated carbon so no chlorine or chloramines to worry about.

  • @BauriBob wow sounds like a real hassel but i suppose you get used to it and set a schedule for it over time well thanks for the info and i hope to get a tank like yours one day :D

  • @xXxLinksterxXx cost plenty. depends on size, thickness of acrylic, and the cost of oil at the time of purchase. If you are looking to build an acrylic tank, check with some aquarium shops in your area or try glasscages online.

water changes - I turn off the two pumps (in the sump). Use a hose to drain the sump (separate drain pump). Fill the sump back up, turn the pumps back on and I'm done. Occasionally siphon the corner boxes, remove algae from sides.

  • @BauriBob wow i wish i had your tank its amazing isn't it a hassel doing water changes? and about how much have you spent on your setup if you dont mind me asking? looks EXPENSIVE

  • @xXxLinksterxXx the tank is 8' long, 3' wide, and 17" wide. Water depth is 12". Total water volume including the sump underneath is about 200 gallons.

  • @sammytheshark1 there are pellets that drop automatically for the fish in the tank, the turtles eat them sometimes. Mainly I feed them fish and chicken, perhaps an amount roughly equal to the size of their head every other day.

  • You sir, have a BAD ASS turtle tank.

    How many gallons?
