@TheEdgey89 these engines are NOT crappy at all. Drive them gently and they're efficient but keep them spinning and they're pretty damn good whilst using bugger all oil! Remember the design is >20 years old without variable valve timing and injection etc and the 1.6L's ignition timing is rather conservative from the factory. They get MUCH better when that's sorted out and a 4-2-1 stainless manifold is put on and a straight through system. I'm certainly loving my engine as often as possible...

That was stock. Well, it had a decat which might give 5bhp extra if you are lucky, but apart from that it was standard.

It is designed to be revved to more than 7000rpm. The rev limiter is there for a reason. These engines work better if you regularly rev them to the red line (when properly warmed up of course).
