This is Esperanza Spalding's newest track, called Morning, and it is a great song and recording. It is available now as a bonus track on the vinyl edition of Esperanza's Chamber Music Society album. It is listed on the album liner notes as a preview of the Radio Music Society, Esperanza's new CD coming out March 20, 2012. It is not on the track listing for that CD, but it is from the same sessions. It is a song with with sexy lyrics, about two people spending the night together, sung by Esperanza in a sultry, but disciplined voice. Musically, it is very interesting, combining Jazz with an experimental rock sound, reminiscent of the Beatle's Revolver. Even though there is a lot of instrumentation in the mix, Esperanza's upright bass can be heard distinctly with some very interesting fills. If this track represents what we can look forward to with the Radio Music Society album, Esperanza will have yet another creative and exciting record to offer her fans.

  • she is sooo beautiful

  • @jdmcivicsir2 : Yes, she is- I think that Esperanza is the most beautiful woman in show business. But she is also extremely talented, and very gracious. I have had the pleasure of meeting her twice, and got a picture with her on one occasion, and autographs on both occasions. She is very gracious and appreciates her fans. If you watch her interviews, she is humble, and wants to share her spotlight with other Jazz musicians. She is a class act.

  • izzyvulaca : yes, I am sorry it does not appear to be on the new CD. It is listed as a preview of the Radio Music Society on the vinyl version of Chamber Music Society, on which I culled this track. I had assumed that meant it would be on the CD. But perhaps that only means it is from the Radio Music Society sessions, or in the vein of the Radio Music Society songs. If you want to buy it, it is still available on the vinyl version of Chamber Music Society.

  • why cant i buy this! why!

  • @izzyvulaca - You can; it is a bonus track on the vinyl edition of Chamber Music Society, and I believe that it will be on Esperanza's forthcoming Radio Music Society CD (due March 20).

  • I love this song so much. I really hope it's on Radio Music. Can you give me a link to the second photo or that whole photoshoot? I'm very fond of that photo.

  • @RainaHatari : Guess what! Its been awhile, but I found these pics again on Esperanza's FB. YOUtube won't let me post the link but go to Esperanza's Facebook page and they are in her photos.

  • I agree Andrea, it is really not saying too much to say that Esperanza is a musical genius. The Chamber Music Society CD convinced me of that. Her current work really reminds me of the Beatle's Revolver era, not because they sound alike, they don't different genres; but because Esperanza is showing the same creativity that the Beatles did. And she is about the same age they were when they were making albums like Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt. Pepper.
