Psalm 34
to the tune of "National Hymn" by George W. Warren, 1888, used for the song God of Our Fathers by Daniel C. Roberts, 1876
by Jason Goldtrap 02.13.02

I will extol Jehovah at all times.
His praise shall be forever on my mind.
My soul will boast, the afflicted my song hear.
Come let us praise, together let us cheer.

I sought the Lord and he did answer me.
All fears and doubts I now have been set free.
Those whom He loves are never put to shame.
Poor men are rich and leaping are the lame.

Taste, see the Lord and refuge in Him take.
All He provides; His will never forsake.
Lions may groan and grow weak without food.
God strengthens those for whom he works all good.

Come little children learn to fear the Lord.
Love life and keep your tongue from all ill words.
Turn now from evil seek the path of peace.
Pursue what's pure so your joy may increase.

His lovely eyes watch righteous men always.
With judgment fierce the wicked He doth slay.
Brokenhearted ones whom men may have crushed,
Cling to the Lord, for in Him they would trust.

He shall deliver all who seek His home.
He shall them keep from every broken bone.
Those who oppose and plot their evil schemes.
Shall be condemned, the righteous He'll redeem.
