This is the previous SeaWorld Shamu show called "Believe" filmed in San Diego, California on March 3, 2009., On February 24, 2010 the orca "Tilikum" drowned an experienced female trainer as at least two dozen tourists looked on from above a whale tank and from an underwater viewing area. Following this event, trainers no longer go into the water with the orcas at SeaWorld parks shows.

@oceangirl1525 Because they get rewarded with food, they do it because they associate the tricks with food. And that is the whales main priority. Don't be fooled in thinking these whales enjoy performing everyday, if they had the option they would choose to live as wild as possible. Also, i get that some of these whales were rescued, but instead of using them for our entertainment, why not keep them in wildlife sanctuary's were they can life as wild as possible, stress free?

I wonder what kind of qualifications one needs to be a whale trainer? I would like to think that no self respecting marine biologist would work at these parks.

@losepoundsandinches By either jumping out of the tank or simply not going to the surface for air. I believe one of the original flippers starved himself of oxygen until he drowned/suffocated.

I think they should add some fireworks with loud booms and shotgun blasts into the water to help the whales remain calm during the performance.
