There are probably more misconceptions about fat than any other macronutrient. Dr. Weil explains why "fat does not make you fat" and shares which fat sources are the most conducive to optimum health.

I'm a fan of Dr. Weil; read several of his books, and respect his work tremendously. But I never saw him talk about the very selective data published by Ancel Keys, upon which many books on diet, fat, and heart disease were subsequently written.

He's 70. No one can say whether he'll live as long, or as well as Jack LaLane or not, but I want you to remember that weight is not the sole indicate or health.

He IS a model of his promotion. He promotes well-being and disease resistance. He does not promote a small waist or dress size. So people gotta change their attitudes about fat to realize his point and what he promotes. Fat to you is the layers on your belly or hips. Fat to him is a macronutrient that does many jobs in our bodies.

That fat man is healthier than you people who disagree with him. He didn't try to discourage people from consuming fat, so how can you knock him for being fat? His goal is disease prevention, not waist size or body fat index. He's fat because he's probably not exercising enough. You fat people with comments are probably fat because you're lazy. This speech doesn't reflect his ideas well anyway, read his book "Eating Well for Optimum Health". He IS a model of his promotion. Disease resistance.

I appreciate your conscientiousness and consideration for all sides. Ultimately copernica it takes a strong mind and will to take things into their own hands.Andrew Weil is in some respect misrepresenting health/wellness by not being the example. That is needed so badly especially in our culture.Honestly, focusing too much on food/diet can be detrimenental to life and feeling good. The important thing is to become more sensitive and pro-active in our own life. When we are weak, asleep we will suffer
