Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my all time favorite romance, the story has hit my emotions harder than any other one.

Most movies reduce love to a greeting card sentiment...

Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind treats it as a subject for extended philosophical inquiry. The film is cerebral, formally and conceptually complicated, dance with literary allusions and has unabashedly romantic as any movie you'll ever see.

Written by "Charlie Kaufman" and directed by visionary "Michel Gondry" ESOTSM is a break up drama, a romantic comedy but with one crucial element plucked from the universe of Science- fiction. The quintessence of this masterpiece unique in its kind, lies in the originality of his script where the roles are brilliantly performed by an all-star cast.

In an nondescript office, somewhere in Long Island a mad scientist played by Tom Wilkinson has developed a technology that can selectively erase human memory. In most of the movie contains Joel and Clementine a couple who come to the doctor to have their memories of each other erased.

Kate Winslet as « Clementine » is unforgettably charming and obnoxious changing her hair color as often has she shifts her moods , Jim Carrey as « Joel » is sweet, anxious and sincere with some others spark that made him such a comic super star but none of the self conscious clowning. They are helped out by a marvelous supporting cast of absurdist led by tom Wilkinson also including David Cross, Jane Adams, Mark Ruffalo, Kristen Dunst and Elijah Wood. These people are all really weird and really interesting and sometimes they acte as if the movie is all about them.

Gondry and Kaufman have created a fantasy world and populated it with real people.Michel Gondry is amazingly resourceful and visiually creative seamlessly moving from reality into dreams and back again. Kaufman script is amazing on so many levels, the dialogue is witty and psychologically acute, the structure is widely inventive and complex and yet everything is held together by its own cow-horned internal logic. Charlie Kaufman has an enormous brain and this movie is bristling with ideas about time, desire, memories, the structure of human consciousness.

The real achivement of this movie is the way that it connects all of these speculations to real recognizable human emotions it suggested the reasons we think so much is that we feel so deeply...

Does the strength of the human heart and the power of the mind can actually forget ?

I love this movie. It's smart, it's funny, it's sexy, heartwarming and heartbreaking simultaneously. It makes cry and it makes me smile. One of my greatest pleasure, outside to watch the fantastic story, is to keep my mind attentive and my ears on listening to the sublimely magisterial metaphorical soundtracks which are unsurpassably sensational and emotionally immersive. No other romantic masterpieces has made​me feel such emotions. I utterly love this jewel.

i agree with everything you said about eternal sunshine. it is my favorite film and continues to touch me to this day,, your video shows all the best parts and was truely beautiful. the film is perfect...nothing is forced...everything flows flawlessly even the side characters(mark rufflao, kirsten dunst etc...) its just a masterpiece.
