I do love some of his writings and songs but I don't believe in blind worship. What I said earlier about his novels is true. Readers who have read his writings carefully must have noticed how self-effacing his women characters are. I'm sorry if my comments hurt some people's old prejudices but let me remind them that the Benagali poet also launched maverick attacks on other literary figures.
