The New York Times and the Washington Post have recently reported on the shocking "System of Neglect" in immigrant detention centers that denies basic medical care to those detainees desperately in need of it. Watch June Everett's moving account of her sister's death in detention - how Sandra Kenley, a 52- year-old grandmother who had lived legally in the US for 33 years "died because the American system failed her, a system we believed in, a system that needs fixing now." • It is so crucial for Americans to be made aware of these grave injustices. This is a crime against humanity - Liswan5157 is 100% right. Immigration detention is a human rights violation.

  • Detaining a person due to a question about their immigration status is unjust. Even if there were a problem with a person's documentation, immigration violations are a civil infraction, not criminal. Detention is supposed to be reserved for criminal offenses. Detaining someone due to their documentation is like detaining someone for a speeding ticket. This video shows how horrible the detention system is when used as a tool for immigration enforcement.

  • It is not UNFORTUNATE that these people died! IT is SHAMEFUL! After my husband has told me about the lack of medical care to save money for CCA, I'm not surprised. He suffered for over two months with tooth pain. He had testicular pain and sent 3 grievances which were hidden by his unit manager. ICE tells doctors if they can give medical treatment. ICE agents are not doctors! Prosecute Julie Meyers for the premeditated murder of these people!

  • Our nation can do better. We need to fix our immigration system and ensure due process to everyone. Where do your U.S. Representative and U.S. Senators stand on this issue? Ask them and hold them accountable.
