Contraband BUSTED - Cancun airport - YouTube HD

One of the things that Westjet doesn't offer is a hot meal aboard their flights so prior to departing Calgary we bought some snacks for the flight to Cancun at the Tim Horton and that included an apple fritter.
Now the apple fritter was in a paper bag which in turn was in a plastic bag and finally it was in our back pack. It was all but forgotten on our flight so the apple fritter stayed in the back pack as we went through the Cancun airport.
I saw the dog sniffing at baggage inside the terminal and I thought it was searching for drugs, but it wasn't. I even petted the friendly dog and filmed it, but when I put my back pack down to lift our baggage from the carousel the dog came over and sniffed my back pack and put it's paw on it.
What the %&*& I though, I don't have anything in there except cameras, batteries and chargers.
With the handler was an assistant who asked to look in the back pack - no problem. As soon as the plastic bag with the apple fritter was removed the dog reacted for which he got a little treat.
He could sniff the apple fritter through the paper bag, plastic bag and the back pack, very impressive.
Throughout this the airport security personnel were polite and after confiscating our apple fritters we were left alone.




Moral of the story don't bring any kind of fruit with you to Mexico, it's not allowed.

Quite amazing that you did film this, in NY at JFK, you take a camera out and they take YOU away. Did you get a chance to at least eat the fritter before boarding?

The fritter went un eaten.
