AAhhhh the good old Murphy CB 1500 Homebase. A classic radio which was very popular even though it was by no means a top set. It suffered mains hum, clunky squelch (annoying at night) and interference from closeby stations.. Cheap as chips for a CB when new, I bought mine for under £50 from Hewards Homestore in Birmingham around 1985. I internally wired mine to suit cybernet mics and by-passed the PSU... defeating the object of a homebase I know but sorting out the mains hum 100% and now easily taken mobile or battery powered during a power cut.
