The Haselwood Family YMCA in Silverdale will serve as a community hub for people from all walks of life in the greater Silverdale area. Set to open its doors by summer 2011, the YMCA will serve an estimated 15,000 members.
The 50,000 to 70,000-square-foot facility will be centrally located at the intersection of Poplars Avenue and Silverdale Way on the 12-acre Central Kitsap Community Campus. The YMCA and Kitsap County have worked closely together and with the Central Kitsap Community Council to develop the best community center possible. The YMCA will feature an aquatics center, wellness centers, exercise and multipurpose rooms, a gym, a community meeting center, a youth drop-in zone, a nursery, and much more.
