In the Ananda Marga's Baby Naming Ceremony, the infant/s is/are placed before the officiants, who recite a sanskrit hymn 3 times -repeated by the assembly- followed by a verse in the local languag, in which the assembly pledges -with the Grace of the Supreme- to arrange for the upkeeping, medical care and physical growth of the infant/s. Then, after the second repetition of the hymn, the participants pleadge to provide adequate education for the mental development of the infant/s. After the third repetition of the hymn, the participants pledge, through proper education, to effect the spiritual elevation of the infant/s Each time they recite it, the participants pour water from a container into a bigger one, then the guardian/s will bathe the child/ren with that water. Then follows a celebration.
