Here is a comparison of my 2005 Silverangel with my 2006 Eastman MD815 Both have Adirondack tops and hand rubbed oil varnish finishes. These are both fine mandolins for folks who don't want to spent $5K or more on an instrument. I've had the chance to play Gilchrists, Gibsons (including Loars), Paganonis, Ellis and many more fine mandolins. These two mandolin featured in this video can hold their hold with any mandolin that I've played. The Silverangels are in the $3-4K range and the Eastman MD815 is $1500
Eastman is better on the low end and the angel is better on the high end thats my opinion

I liked the tone of the Silverangel better too ( better bass to my old ears, LOL), but the Eastman sounds good, especially in the treble end of the response.

The Silver Angel is miles ahead of the Eastman to my ears.

first off thank you for the post
I thought and I am by no means a pro however the Silver Angel had a lot more volume with that said I do think the Eastman held it's own fine and one should consider the big price difference as well I thank you so much as I have been in the market for a new mando
I was unsure some told me the MK dragonfly but I am thinking the Eastman would be a better fit as there both the same money MK & Eastman that is once more thank you sir
