  • Alchemy, the science of understanding, deconstructing and reconstructing matter. However, it is not an all-powerful art; one cannot create something out of nothing. In order to obtain something, something of equal value must be given. This is the law of Equivalent Exchange, the basis of all alchemy. In accordance with this law, there is a taboo among alchemists. Human transmutation is strictly forbidden; for what could equal the value of a human soul?

  • Listening to this while studying chemistry is awesome

  • Next time, on Full Metal Alchemist.

  • @petaltailify97 leg, arm, who cares, it was still more traumatic than higurashi!

  • @Cherryblossoms13100 actually it was Ed's leg and Al's body that were taken first and then Ed sacrificed his arm to transmute Al's soul to the armor, and the rest of what you said was true.

  • (Insert clever quote from the show) :)

  • I always expect to hear "Again by Yui" right after this XD

  • There is not painless lesson, for a lesson withought pain is meeningless.

  • @xDarkxZelinkx Well, in the 2000 release of the FMA anime (not brother hood) Ed's arm and Al's body was the only thing taken, then his leg was used to bring Al into the suit, AND their mother came back to life in the form of some kind of traumatizing goo and, after feeding of redstone (storebrand Philosipher stones), became the humunculus Sloth, with the ability to turn into water.

  • The time has come - he who is guilty for committing the ultimate transgression. We no longer have bodies to return to. But the people of Amestris still have the chance to resume their physical forms. Yes, we know what we must do; let us return their souls back to their bodies. It is what Hohenhiem asked of us.

  • @ned1291 Can you tell me the soundtrack that plays when the girl armstrong stabs that one guy in the arm and baries him in the cement please.

  • @BeyondBemazing Technically Ed didn't create Al's soul. The soul hadn't gone to the other side of the gate yet.
