I made 240 HP and 281 Ft-Lbs of torque on my first ever dyno run. I ran out of go @ about 5000RPM. I think it's my car chemistry inserts in the exhaust that are the restriction. Only Time will tell.

Engine is a 5.0L, GT40p heads, 15511 CAM, FI

  • What is your overall opinion on the inserts?? Was the sound reduction good?? Did it change exhaust tone?? Were you running 2 or 3 disc? Any caps or packing??

  • 3 disc. - no cap - no packing.

    They work great at sound reduction. I gained 18 hp when I took the out later in the year. Right now I using lobak screw type mufflers and not inserts. I like the inserts + glasspacks better and will return to them in the future.

  • remember the lower the lift the less the chance of extreme detonation with twin turbos. It's a great way to make power, and it's the new fad! Very cool car! I was able to find a complete twin turbo kit for 800 bucks through ebay. The inserts shouldn't be a problem with such a low horsepower engine, especially cc's. They cause almost no restriction. If anything you might need a little more back pressure regulate that compression. Good luck and again awesome car!

    I pulled the CC inserts out and picked up 18hp and 17torque. I am still contemplating the supercharger vs. turbos. The car is so much fun to drive as it is it may be a while.

  • Need to find another dyno now that the big pulley is on the supercharger!

  • I have an 03 Mustang GT that has a bbk or-x and borla s-type mufflers.. It is unbearably raspy!!!! Previously i had factory exhaust with borla s-types and once i took the cats off it was horrible!!!!

  • You should get more RWHP with your combo. Some guys claim over 280 RWHP with ported GT40P's, intake, cam and exhaust. Good luck, and yeah.. what a beautiful car!
