My interpretation of Michael Hedges' song "Rickover's Dream." This is one of my favorite Hedges compositions, particularly because of how open the meter is throughout the piece. I actually did use a few videos to reference how this one was played, but I use less slap harmonics because frankly, I'm not very good at them.

The guitar is a Takamine AN10.

The sound isn't great, but that's likely because (a) I'm just using the internal mic on the laptop with no audio interface and (b) my playing is a bit sloppy here.

  • @xbornstubbornx Translation: this fool lacks the requisite skill to play any Michael Hedges tune, but because it unknowingly sounds sloppy and out of tune, it's "passionate." Please. This cover is awful.

  • Good job, do it your way. You are not Michael Hedges, but that is not important. You play music you like and it shows.

  • This is one of the best Hedges' covers that one could find on Youtube .Not because of skills and stuff like that. The playing is very honest, passionate and dynamic, what was Hedges's music all about. I wish I was that good in his tunes. Kudos.
