Rare sky phenomenon

Atmospheric halos series part III.
The white arc is called parhelic circle. The bright fuzzy dot to the right on it is a 120°-parhelion. If you look carefully you can see two more arcs crossing the parhelic circle to the left and forming an "X". These are very rare Wegener arcs. All these phenomena are caused by ice crystals in the atmosphere reflecting the sunlight.

It's light from the sun.

Tiny ice crystals float through the air reflecting light. If you looked at the sun through a pane of ever-so-slightly frosted glass, you'd see similar effects.

Do everyone a favour and try LEARNING something. It takes about 1 braincell to see something in the sky you can't explain and call it a UFO. You don't know because you've never learned, so now's your chance. By convincing yourself you already know, you'll never learn anything.
