At only 16 i even understand that this is the music people need to hear and grow to love! Real music, with real lyrics. Some of today's songs and lyrics for the younger age group make me cringe! If only we could have someone just like Kate. She may still be active and producing good music but her newer material doesn't beat her earlier classics.. I'd love to hear her belting out those high vocals again!

@1stChoiceBand She probably has a body mic in her clothing. Like a TV newscaster - think how good they sound with just a tiny mic clipped on them. If this was done in a small auditorium there might not be a mic at all. REAL singers can fill a fair sized hall without any mic. Or with overhead mics out of view. In that case, recording done with mics (prolly a pair of crossed cardiods) in the centre of the hall. Plenty of possibilities besides "it's playback". Feh.

Yeah great! I listened to her in the 80's a lot but never saw any of this.
Funny how in the USA we got force fed women singers who FAKED their singing when they danced.
Ask most Americans & they never heard of Kate Bush. Too bad for them.
I have to put her on the level of Motzart.

Marvellous - the Japanese got KT almost as quickly as we did - but with something a bit more subtle than WH - someone at EMI knew what they were doing!
