CHANNEL FOUR NEWS TITLES - 2004

I recorded this back in 2004. Why - cos it is classic. Channel 4 news has had the same theme since day 1 back in the 1980's. They go with the motto - if it isn't broken then don't fix it.

Too many great themes have been abandoned over the years! Shame that - but most are on YouTube now thanks to people!

E4 is an entertainment channel

Channel Four News has NOT had the same music since it started. From the beginning in November 1982 until late January 1983, a totally different theme was used, before the programme was given a re-launch with the original version of the theme that has lasted to the present day.

Great titles and the slightly extended theme sets it up for perfect viewing.

It would still be good to have some sort of short bulletin on the hour, like Channel 5 used to do and like CBBC does with Newsround on their channel.

Because we can just switch over to Channel 4 or more 4 for the news? Surely the British aren't *that* lazy?

the second theme is called "Best Endeavours" and was used in the western "Pale Rider"

They have News bulletins for Channel 4 and More4. But WHY don't they have news bulletins on E4?
