my layer box is missing could you help me get it back idk what happen to it

my gimp doesn't have the layers window :s

The chain opens and locks the layer. if locked, you can`t draw on it. It helps not accidentally messing up a finished layer.

That chain is for locking layers. if it´s locked you can´t draw on - or manipulate it any further. when the chain is open you can freely manipulate and draw on that layer again.

Furry fan!! xD lol gd video :) I just want to know cos I just got the Gimp 2, when you are messing around with layers, there is another button next to the eye, and when you click on it a little icon that looks like a piece of a chain shows up. What does it do?? I can't figure it out >,<

@BreyerArt333 To be completely honest with you... Im not that sure either! LOL i THINK it links layers together maybe? I havent used Gimp in so long im not sure LOL
