I think you need your eyes testing I never said anything about 200hp my Gti is a 150 bhp mk3 and my tdi is a 140bhp mk5 and the Gti is my own and the tdi is a company car not that I have to explain myself,I was just making a comment through personel experience:-)

Whilst many folk will put the diesel down for a bad sound - They are so quiet because of the huge turbo's attached to them which take s much impulse from the exhaust gasses their aint much left to make a lot of loud noise with. On a similar vein that is why a P38 Lightning doesn't sound as good as a spitfire, mustang or Mosquito does. Because you are running not only an inline supercharger plus a turbo as well the exhaust has no energy left to make the noise. Thus you are left with a rattle.

i know the r10 tdi beats everythin but diesel sucks ive got a diesel golf tdi and a petrol golf gti the tdi IS faster but there is no driving pleasure from a diesel engine
