I'm going to TrekFest 2009 in Riverside, Iowa

An invitation for you to join me at TrekFest in Riverside, Iowa, Friday June 26 and Saturday June 27, 2009. In the Star Trek universe, Riverside is the official "future birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk" and this year, three original Star Trek series cast members (Walter Koenig - Chekov, Nichelle Nicols - Uhura, and George Takei - Mr. Sulu) will be there.

This will be the first sci-fi themed event I have ever attended, and this event looks like a fun (but somewhat bizarre) cross between a Star Trek convention and Midwestern county fair.

See you there! I actually went out there yesterday (a week before the event) to check things out and visit the "Voyage Home" museum. Nice folks.

I will be roaming around hopefully doing a ton of video recording and photo taking. If you want to say hi, I will be the one doing a red-shirt comedy show somewhere in the park.
