Actually, it is a 429. If you are interested in the 71 429 Mustangs, google my website called the "429 Megasite". You will be able to see my engine photo in Gallery 1, 8th car down as well as all sorts of interesting info on these cars :-)

  • @SuperCJ429 I cant believe these people on here telling YOU what sort of motor YOUR car has in it.It looks like a very nice car.

  • @TheClevo351 Me either! Thanks.

  • Im getting ready to paint my 72 mach 1 and just out of curiosity is that the light pewter metallic color? or am i wrong? because i think thats a very nice color

  • Yes - it is light pewter metallic.

  • And BTW this is the baddest ass Mustang EVER PRODUCED!

I love the styling of the 69s and the Boss 429 is a total badass, but this generation (71-73) has the most extreme styling of ALL Mustangs and it will never be touched again!! Plus these units were built like TANKS!

  • @SuperCJ429 You answered that like a "Boss", no pun intended. ;-)

"boss 302"??? I would have torn into the kid! lol

  • I thought it was the 428CJ and SCJ?

  • SWEET RIDE

  • not worth as much as some earlier rare mustangs, some say too heavy and big.but still my favourite mustang, just gorgeous.perfect from every angle.this or the hemicuda are my favourite muscle cars.at least you can justify actually using this.am sure with modern tuning you could get some healthy figures out of a 71-73 without ruining the look or the perfect period interior and styling

  • Some folks think Boss 429 and429 sc or scj are the same. The Boss 429 CAME only in 69 and 70 specially prepared Mach 1 Mustangs. Prepared by a Kar Kraft a company ford hired to do all the modifications necessary. Ford lost money on every car sold. The car was built simply so they could use the huge semi-hemi in NASCAR which they never got to do. The only "Boss" built in 71 was the "Boss 351" with a very nasty 351 Cleveland. In bone stock form ran easy mid 13s which was better than the 429 scj.

  • @grovebulldogs fail.

  • The Mustang is the only reason we have performance cars today worth driving .

    Nice car .

  • What the hell are you guys talking about? I am sure he knows what has. Those side stripes are optional from the factory and are common add ons on todays restorations. The 429 CJ did NOT affect paint color choices. A plain jane coupe could have come with a 429 CJ or SCJ.
