I am so disgusted with our political leadership. When oh when are we going to start looking further ahead than the next 10 mins? We are on fire and are peeing on ourselves to put it out. Instead of a visionary plan to address our challenges the politicians are looking for ways to stay in power even if that means wrecking the country in the process The zeitgeist has shifted and politicians are too slow to realise it. We are in desperate need of reasoning and intellectual honesty.

What we need to realize is that politics isn't the answer. The problems of society aren't solved by politicians and creating new laws. It's technology that solves problems. Scientists, engineers and technicians solve problems. Politicians simply create laws and the monetary system that essentially enslave people. And the most important point that people need to realize, more so than any of the other points I've made, is that change starts within. It's only a matter of choice.

@JarradIRONEAGLE that the first group surrounds themselves with to achieve higher positions. I think the main problem with politics is the type of person it selects for. In order to be lured into such an office you tend to have a certain bent (very generally speaking). Until in some way the office is re-defined we'll generally attract a certain class of person (cross party).
