  • Why not just get an X-Arcade?

  • Why didn't I just buy an X-Arcade? Let's see... 1) An X-Arcade would have cost money, which at the time, I didn't have. 2) I want to build a full Mame cabinet eventually, so I needed a test unit to see if I could handle the basic component assembly. 3) I wanted something unusual... something that nobody else has. 4) Because I could.

  • jttoad,

In your video you say that in all it cost you less than a hundred dollars. X-Arcade was $100. I understand points 2-4, though. I'm not knocking your creation, it's pretty cool. I don't know that I could build one myself.

For me, I need the multiple buttons on the X-Arcade. I use MAME and it's great for that. Also, It works great for the PC version of Street Fighter IV.

Good luck in building that full cabinet.

  • Good point on the money part. It's been a while. As I recall, it cost far less than 100. I think i just threw out $100 as a general number. The joystick and the card were the biggest expenses. The rest was either surplus junk or really cheap. I am looking forward to building the full cabinet one day.

  • looks like a fucking dildo you fucking hack

  • That's exactly what I was going for! Thanks for noticing, IRONMAIDENFAN2006!

  • I've been building one at vocational school. When I got my axis working I spent like 5 mins just swaying the stick around watching it light up on my screen. XD Just got to fix 2 of my 6 buttons, and drill a hole for my usb cable, and I'm done. Can't wait to finish, going to play street fighter like a crazy man.

  • do you still by chance have the link or model number of that USB controller. im built myself a mame machine in the past and went uber-cheapo on the controller and Frankensteined a keyboard. i want to go a more professional methode this time and have the keys mapped to the right place, rather then "]" be my up on the joystick. thanks!

  • Hey do you know how to get the xbox360 controller to work with mame32?

  • LMAO

  • really interesting...

nice to see you took the time to make something cool

  • I think Ill get One of the dream arcade cocktail cabniets with the midrange computer in it.
