There is no connection between abortion and marriage and the economic situation. That's been bundled together like those high-risk mortgage securities that got us into financial hot water. The fundamentalists are working to link all of this together, but the the economic crisis was the result of unethical dealings and relaxed regulation that many of these same pseudo-moralists and godly people endorsed for decades.
