I don't mean to be insulting, and I'm not sure if this has been pointed out earlier, but this recording is an imposter. It is of someone trying to recreate the original recording. It's apparent through the tone, the ornaments deviate from the original in a couple of places, and the piano is of a completely different timbre than that of the original. Maybe I'm just going crazy, but I have listened to the original so often that I know it like the back of my hand.

@kubekbeta5 yeah in 1982 he didn´t play as well as 1955 because in 1982 he died this version is in 1981!

In 1982 version Gould doesn't play that grace note. Maybe you have his 1955 version?
best ever! Glenn Gould was the best player of Bach - EVER! and i believe that was great

Not nessecarily, just because you compose something, you must not be the best artist- like no every poet is automatically gifted with a brilliant voice to sing / or read his lyrics.
