Kentucky Record Gold Fish,Boy rides Gold Fish

Pine Lake in Lewis County, Kentucky . This is a huge 65 pound 49 inch long fish that is thought to be a Gold Fish.
On April 18th, 2011 in a small private lake also located in Garrison Ky .Aaround 2:00pm that afternoon Merle along with his family decided to go to this quit little lake and fish for a bit. After casting their poles they sit to wait. 20 mins in Merle got a bite. He was using a eagle claw fishing pole with 12lb line and a minnow for bait. After a little over a 2 hour struggle Merle landed the fish with first instincts of it being and albino catfish until he emerged it from the water. In total shock he realized no he didnt land a typical fish...He landed a goldfish. Hundreds of people from garrison went to pine lake that day to see the amazing catch. Many pictures were taken by many different people.The Constible of Garrison, Larry Colley, and Ky Fish and Wild Life Officer's who were also on the scene. After many hours of having the fish tied on a rope, they weighed in the massive fish....It weighted in at 65lbs...49 inches long.... and 34 and 3/4 inches in girth.absoultly amazing. We are awaiting proper confirmation on the fish but as we believe it is the worlds largest gold fish.

The Family of the late Paul Skidmore built this lake many years ago , Denise Huffman the grandaughter Of Mr. Skidmore thanks this may be the same fish they had as a family pet when she was young . Gold Fish that Mr.Horsley caught on monday april the 18th 2011may be that old pet. At this time they are waiting on the officals to come back with the report to see if this is in fact a Gold fish. This Fish was not harmed . It was caught and released back into Pine Lake. The Fish was only out of the water long enough to have the pictures taken.

@superwhiz88 actutally i take that back. upon further examination this looks like a bighead carp with a skin pigmentation problem. They DO taste like shit. and given the opportunity i would kill every single one of them on the planet.

common carp which i mentioned earlier are alright eating, and not as destructive.

@superwhiz88 i believe i was talking about "asian carp", much different from the common carp/koi shown in the video, which is the carp you are talking about. they do taste good, but i would not prefer them to salmon or trout. "asian carp" are bighead or silver carp. this carp is a probably common carp... bighead and silver carp taste like shit unless fried and are trying to kill everything the midwestern united states.

@MunicipalMeep you are very very wrong ,, this breed of asian carp is call large head fish in asian country , the meat is better taste then trout and salmon .. this is reason why they cost more then salmon and trout in china .. very taste fish .. if people can market this fish in right market it can be an resource.. you dont have to believe me .. catch one and taste the meat .. you will see the difference ..
