During the summer of 2011, a group of multimedia artists spent 25 days hiking the 219 mile long John Muir Trail. Their intent was to capture their experience on the trail and bring it back to the general public in the form of a gallery exhibit including photographs, video installations and hands-on displays that allow visitors to truly get a feeling for the beauty and majesty of the trail without the burning lungs and blisters. Alongside the exhibit will be a feature length documentary chronicling their adventures on the trail.

This is the first glimpse into their epic journey, accompanied by the single, ALMOST THERE by Opus Orange.

  • This is one of my favorite JMT videos. Looking forward to seeing more from you! Thanks so much! Cheers!

  • @1PhotoGeek - Thanks so much! Please share away. We're using this as a tool to gain some initial interest in the larger project at hand...a documentary we're currently cutting. In the interim, we'll be releasing some additional video pieces.

  • Great video! Amazing places & music

  • This video is great. I'd love to do something like this about the AT or the PCT someday. Gorgeous

  • Great Job. Can't wait to see the full documentary. When's the release? What's the distribution?

We just missed you guys. We arrived at YV July 8th from Mammoth. Just uploaded our slideshow recently - nothing like this of course.

  • I've watched this video seven times in a few hours. That's how amazing it is :)

  • @TheMuirProject We share a mutual love and respect for the trail. We filmed our doc "Six Million Steps" in '09, released last year, but it's not nearly as gorgeous as your project.
