SC3 CAS - Celes Chere

Emperor Gestahl's former general makes her own appearance in Namco's famous weapon-based 3D fighter.

Celes was actually the first Final Fantasy character I created for Soul Calibur 3. I had checked several sites on how to make different characters from other games, and I noticed they all had one thing in common: An abundance of Final Fantasy 7 characters, yet none of them had characters from other Final Fantasy games. Being a fan of FFVI, I thought this was terrible, so I made Celes and Locke, and I'm very happy with the results.

One could argue that she could use Soul of Siegfried due to the knights in FFVI being able to use larger swords...but I hate Siegfried, and Celes seems more like a rapier user.

Celes: Knight - Soul of Raphael
Locke: Thief - Dagger
Stage: Ostrheinsburg Castle - Battlement

When I made Celes on mine, I made her a sage with Sword and Shield or Soul of Sophitia or Cassandra... It just made more sense, since it was rare you had her without a shield, unless you really like the Gauntlet relic...

Actually, I do like the Gauntlet, though I usually equip it on Cyan.

As for Celes' fighting style, I tried to avoid the sisters' fighting styles because I couldn't play as either to save my life in SC3. I probably could've gotten by with the generic Sword & Shield style, though.

I used Katana style, because I had too many sword/shields and because I had no katanas. The Damascus Sword looks good on her surprisingly.
