Detroit Senate 4/34 Wurlitzer Theatre Organ - Paul playing El Relicario (1922) by José Padilla on this terrific organ. Post horns on 2nd touch accent the music along with castanets. More info about the Wurlitzer is at http://www.dtos.org/

A console diagram is on this page right after the chamber specs.

  • Love the arrangement! Great sounding organ. Did I read it's staying in the Senate?

  • @almeisam It sure is a great organ. Still at the Senate. Reopening show in May 2011 with Jelani Eddington. Details on the DTOS website. The web address is in the description section of this video.

  • The Mayan Goddess - wonderful title for this magnificent custom. An odd combination, the French style console with the Mayan carvings and corbels. Does this console still have the pipes grouped first by division but second by chamber? I think I remember this one having that odd layout.

  • There is a console diagram at the DTOS web site. I'll put the link in the description of this video. They don't allow URLs in this area (?).

  • This is really, really excellent! Just the kind of playing I love to listen to! Bravo!

  • Thanks ! It was the first time I ever tried something like this on a big Wurlitzer. Any movies of you playing the Oriental Kimball? A CD??? That organ is sweeeet !!!! Just had the vornado running today I won there during the ATOS convention "radio show". :)

  • A very nice collection of organ playing.

As one organist to another I really appreciate seeing your work

    Thanks Robin

  • I hope this beautiful instrument again finds a good home in a large acoustical environment where it can again be enjoyed by the public....it's one of the best.

  • Im going to miss this organ. ='-(

Shes all ive ever known. Grew up inside and out of this organ and the theater.

  • That was just awesome. I can't play a note to save my life but I love the sound of the Wurlitzers. The first time I heard this track played it was by Leon Berry at the Hub Rink in Chicago. I was 14 at the time and hooked. You played this brilliantly. I am listening through Bose QC2 headphones and the bass is real low. Love it. 10/10

  • Great job! Very nice indeed! Nice registrations.

  • im going to miss this organ
