@GloomyWishes There's no meaning of it, Kiss started it back in the 70's Punk's then wore clothes you see visual kei artists wear in the 80's, Japan copied it and now it's just fashion used to appeal to teenagers.

@KomuriXz It's not that they copied it, in some way they did. But they only mixed meany of the old styles together and made a trend. When kiss came to japan for the first time, the painting on the face remindet them of kabuki, if you know about kabuki. It's really awesome, they had meany strange costumes, so in some way japan started what they aleredy had (just mixed it with western), and visual kei is more for show, it's just that visual kei is not complet without style and music
