  • The algae with its cytoplasmic streaming is being viewed in a small sample of the water where it was found. The creatures moving around in the background are protozoa also contained in the water sample. They are not inside the algae, but moving about around it. They appear to be inside due to the algae's transparency.

    This would be my guess as to what we're seeing.

  • @TeMpleOfHaTe this is under a light microscope its probably in real time (not sped up).
