Thanks, its fun doing them. We have Texas climate in our web site as well as all the other weather stations in the USA. I think its more accurate than the zonal planting system normally used in the USA

Ok, for dried beans, leave them on the plant until they are their full size and the pod starts to yellow. You need to watch that the plant stays healthy while this is going on. If it begins to get mould or if it is water starved then leaving them on the plant to dry will not give best results. Once you take them off, remove pods and put them in the sun and let dry until they are hard. The right dryness is when you bite them and they do not give

Harvest them when they have reached an edible size. Test this as they grow. You will find that the plant will crop continuously for 2-3 months if grown at the right time of the year. So that means the beans will be coming on at different stages continuously which is great and allows you to get an ongoing harvest. Don't leave them on the plant for too long as they loose their sweetness, unless you want to save the seeds in the pods. If you pick too early they will not have full flavour.
