Yet again the Piha Big Wave Classic lives up to it's name. Some fantastic surfboat handling and wicked wipeouts. So much great footage it was hard to narrow it down to 4 min ...
All the boys and girls in the boats are qualified lifeguards and would safely swim in these conditions. There are also three motorised rescue boats (IRB's) and a Jet Ski not shown in support.
