In the last video of rail events filmed during the Isle of Man's Manx Transport Festival in July 2011, we take a glance of the famous Douglas horse tramway, filmed at seperate times during the festival, between Wednesday 27th and Friday 29th July 2011.

The 135 year old 3ft gauge tramway running from Derby Castle to the Sea Terminal, sees regular use throughout the Summer month ferrying visitors along the sea front.

Tamcars 38, 43 and 45 (thelatter in still shot only) prominently feature, with a variety of horses dragging them along each day; we even get to see a horse exchange outside Derby Castle! (At the latter location, Manx Electric Railway 'Winter Salloon' Car 19 makes a brief appearance)

  • I was there four years ago, nice to see again - I used to live on the Island when I was a little boy!

(P.S. The clag from the horses is best avoided!)
