  • Come on people we have everything we need on this planet to survive while being in harmony with nature. What is lacking in the human race is imagination on one end and greed on the other. We as human being will not solve the problem until we understand our true history and sources behind what is happening. People are creatures of habit and don't want to give up the status quo for a new paradigm. That is why the planet will force us into a solution by threat of death and destruction.

  • Bike to a job that has doesn't exist? Oil is used for many more things than just fuel for your car. You need to think long-term and take a simple economics course so you understand how everything is related.

  • @killyertv0 Yes, but tansport is by far the biggest user of oil

  • Great film...I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home and made a video about it called, "Preparing for Peak Oil".....

  • drmoestoesq, please don't confuse the dupes with uncomfortable facts.

  • If I could address the horse people for a second. At the turn of the last century ( 1900) a full one quarter of the farmland in the U.S. was used to provide fodder for horses. There were 100,000 horses on Manhattan alone. (By the way, each horse plops out 20 pounds of horse pucky a day...so you do the math.) Compare the upkeep of a horse to the upkeep of an electric bicycle, or an slow electric car.

  • they're gonna have to tax your so called "victory garden". chineese people have to eat ya know ?

  • In the future we are going to need a way to end urban sprawl so that cities large and small can become more compact and energy efficient. The only way to do this is to take the profit out of land speculation, the cause of sprawl and of the failure of center urban land to be used more efficiently. The simplest way to end urban sprawl is to tax land values heavily via a reformed property tax while at the same time eliminating the tax on improvements to reward rebuilding. Effective Green policy.

  • It is quaint to think that so many people acting on survival instinct after *immense* societal disruption (such as the failing of suburbia) would patiently wait for a whole new paradigm of living to provide them all with enough food, warmth and safety without the spectre of dysfunction ravaging everything first.

Too many clamouring for the remnants of suburbia while being in a massive state of denial about their whole way of living up to that point. Only then shall the meek inherit the earth.

  • I love it. Anarchy is brewing with this loss of precious oil, its gonna weed out the weak. Get rid of the wimpy self indulged pusses that are taking over our poor planet. OIl has made life too easy and people too weak. I say fuck em. better start learning how to grow your own food and make your own clothes and live off the land. cuz if you don't your gonna die. I'm amused at the idea. Its a modern evolution, survival of the fittest. Amazing shit isn't it?
