As a huge fan of the XD lineup, this is a very honest review of the XDm

  • 2:29 you can have a loaded chamber without the gun being cocked! The USP uses the safety switch as a decocker (just pushing it down) while Sig-sauer pistols have a completely different switch. It's usual for police officers to chamber the first round and then decock the pistol turning it to double action mode. Thus the trigger requires more force to be pulled providing one extra safety from random misfires...20 rounds, suck it =Heeellll yeaaaahhh!!!

  • @85jeronimo not sure if I am following you here. There is no way to de-cock the XDm thus if the striker is down you can't have a loaded round in the chamber. There is no way for this model to be shot in a double action mode like a revolver or sa/da optioned handgun. The point I was trying to make is that if the striker indicator is not poking out the back, there is no way for the gun to fire and no loaded round in the chamber.

  • Nice gun. Torn between the Glock and the XDm, still waiting on the pistol permit application (NY state, gotta love it). Honestly, I'm leaning more towards the XDm, mostly because of the interchangeable grips and they include a basic holster and mag pouch with it.

  • @theripmon81

Both are great and honestly you can not go wrong. Both companies know what they are doing and produce very fine pistols. Some people knock the XDm Holster as being Cheap, but that "Cheap" holster and mag pouches got me into competition shooting and gave me everything I needed in 1 box from the second i bought it to enter a match.

For FULL SIZE, i like the XD/XDm/M&P but in the compacts i am a big glock fan.

  • Does the XDM have a plastic guide rod like the Glocks, or is it made of some type of metal?

  • @budkingracing

the XDm has a Metal guide rod.

  • @TexasBulldog74 dam man i feel left behind having only 10 shots in CA. Sucks. I am looking to buy in a good area in Texas but don't know where yet. Any recommendations? 20 bullets in the mag sounds tempting enough lol

  • cool... i got the sub...

i live in tucson lol.... love packing it

  • Awesome.

  • Good review. Got one on order. Looking forward to shooting it.

  • I had an XD compact 45ACP with the flush 10 and 13 rd mags it was an OK gun but after owning Glock's for over ten years it was just hard for the XD to grow on me , the frame was just to wide I couldn't never get it to fit in any of my Glock20 universal holsters for one thing that was a turnoff

  • My XD 40 sub compact mags are a pain to get the last round in. do you have a problem with your xd's?

  • The fnp 9 and 40 also use a slick frame material and have NO TEXTURE!! Not good for humid climates. Lol.

  • 20 rounds.....suck it.

  • @TexasBulldog74 Ooohh!Ok.I thought that was a general question you had...If you can't de-cock this particular pistol then I'm with you, there is no need for the indicator to exist.By the way that's a very nice tabletop on which you made this review, very eye-helping!
