I have a question how many gallons of water are going to be wasted in order to get one gallon of filtered clean water?

Thanks, and do you know some membranes for remove heavy metalics ions as like pb, Cd, Hg, and organic compounds? the permeate will be used for drinking water, the water is contamined. Thanks , Again.

I used a single canister deionisation unit and works great for me.TDS meter reading is 0 until the resin is exhausted then a reading will be observed.

Be careful what you buy and how much yo spent.
BE AWARE of:
Simple H2O 7 Stage reverse Osmosis
Going for about $3,000, I bought one, it's not worth it not for that kind of money, any unit you buy, get a TDS meter as well and monitor the performance of you system to ensure you are getting what you paid for.
Again, Simple H2O 7 Stage Reverse Osmosis would not be my choice, for under $1000 you can get other systems that will perform just as well. Again get a TDS meter.

To BulkReefSupplyCom,
Do you know how many gallon discharge water to fill up the tank - drink water (I assume 5 gallons tank) ?
-
where do i get this can i have a direct link?

The exact amount is going to vary based on your individual water supply, but assuming you have proper water conditions (50 psi, 25C) generally you can expect to get between 3:1 and 5:1 waste water to product water. Most of our customers experience the 3:1 waste water ratio unless there is something that is creating back pressure on the unit (like a pressurized storage tank for drinking water)

Hello, membranes how long and how often you change the filters and membranes? can you tell me what care and maintenance should be done? is true that pretreatment is necessary to care for the equipment?

Membranes last three years, sediment filters depend on water quality but should always last a few months. Carbon blocks 6-12 months depending on use. If you had really bad water it would be helpful to run the system after a water softener to eliminate deposits in the system but it wouldnt be required.

on which stage does it remove the virus' and bacteria
skybabylon1 3 years ago
It would be the Dow membrane that is capable of removing these things. However, Even though reverse osmosis is effective in removing bacteria and viruses, it is not recommended that your rely upon reverse osmosis solely if your water is contaminated with bacteria or viruses. Ultraviolet (UV) purification is also recommended.
