The DIODER by IKEA is a 4-disc/strips array which can show all the colours in the light spectre. They are cheap and incredibly useful to give a nice mood to your room or place behind your TV for some backlight.

  • Hello, I am about to buy a pack of circles and strips and thinking would they work on two seperate colour spectrums

  • @Infaskate If you hook all of them up to the same remote, they will display the same colour, unless you mess with the electronics of it, somehow. Otherwise, if you want them to display different colours, you need to use two different units.

  • @Diskun360

so if i buy a remote package for strips

and a remote package or circles

    i could mix and match?

Example:two circles and two strips on each remote ???

  • @Infaskate Yes, you can. That's what I did in the video (three circles, one strip).

  • Hi Diskun,

I'm wanting to use a set of these in a wardrobe, but i'm thinking off adding a wall switch between then mains and lights. How does the on/off button work on the control unit. If you have the lights on then cut the power to the mains and switch it back on will the lights be on or does the unit reset to being off?

    Hope that makes sense

    Many Thanks

  • @ChrisTufnell If I recall correctly, the unit will stay on, however you do not need to put a switch between the mains and the lights, they come with a good amount of spare cable so you can place them however you need.

  • @Diskun360 are the cables that long? why wouldnt u recommend this on ceiling? is it because of its led life...thanks a lot

  • @Diskun360

    Thanks so much,

    subscribed and liked ;)

  • @Diskun360 Hi Diskun, Thanks for the reply. I picked one up last week, does make a bit of a buzzing sound when transiting through the colours. I was planning to hook it up to a main light switch. Looks like it will work. I'll grab some video once i have it all setup. Thanks again.

  • @bugsy101073 Yes, it can be placed anywhere as long as you manage the cables accordingly. I wouldn't recommend that setup thou.

  • can this dioder can be used on a ceiling?
