The Russian Alexander Scriabin composed this wonderfully lush, passionate piece when he was only 14 years old. A lot of people say that Scriabin picked up where Chopin left off, and with this early work, I have to agree. For some reason I'm drawn to pieces in C-sharp minor more so than pieces in other keys. This is a thickly-textured, multi-voiced piece. I wish I had recorded this on a better piano. The action on my piano didn't do well with fast repeated notes.
Forgive the sound quality of this recording. I recorded around twenty classical pieces on a cassette recorder in 1999 and 2000. I then compiled the pieces onto cassette tapes and distributed them to friends and family as gifts. This was recorded in my basement apartment in August of 1999 on my old, slightly out-of-tune Kimball spinnet. I'm only posting a handful of these recordings for posterity's sake.
